ARMM Regional Governor Datu Zaldy “Puti” Ampatuan appointed Sahid Sangki Druz Ali as Regional Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries-ARMM on October 03, 2005.

Druz Ali replaced Secreatry Nasar A. Salmani whose term of office ended on September 03, 2005. Secretary Druz Ali took office immediately.

A warm welcome and inauguration initiated by the Department of Agriculture Employees Union was held. Director for Field Operation Keise Tan Usman, Assistant Regional Secretary Datu Haron Bandila, Al-haj, Director for Finance Basher S. Noor and other key officials of DAF in the welcome ceremony.

The affair was highlighted with the turnover of the key responsibilities including the programs/projects and seven hundred sixty seven (767) personnel of DA-ARMM by Assistant Regional Secretary Bandila to Secretary Sajid Druz Ali.

Secretary Druz Ali, in his inaugural speech thanked everyone for welcoming him. He emphasized the task given by Governor Ampatuan which is to lead the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries in maximizing the performance of its mandate. He also urged the employees to work together and strive to improve everyone’s performances.

“Let us now buckle down to work and in performing my duties as your Regional Secretary I will be needing your full support. Please don’t hesitate to communicate with me on anything that would improve our performance,” the Secretary said.

Druz Ali, son of Datu Udtog Ali and Bai Racma S. Druz Ali, was born on February 20, 1971 in Ampatuan, Maguindanao. A product of the University of the East with a degree of Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science (1990-1995). He also got a vocational degree at System Technology Institute (Computer Programming) Quezon City (1988-1990), Secondary at the Mindanao State University High School Department, General Santos City (1978-1984), Elementary at the Notre Dame University Training Department, Cotabato City (1978-1984).

His work experiences were the following: Manila Liason Officer, Office of the Municipal mayor (1992-1995); Legislative Staff Officer and Researcher, Office of Congressman Datumanong House of Representatives, Quezon City (1995-1998). (as)
